Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a Signature Safari representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. You can relax at the lodge or explore the town. In the evening, there will be a pre-climb briefing to prepare for the trek.

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha for Londorossi Gate, a 4-hour drive, where you will complete entry formalities. From there, you will drive to the Lemosho trailhead and begin hiking through the lush rainforest to reach Mti Mkubwa Camp.

After leaving the rainforest behind, the trail leads into a savannah of tall grasses, volcanic rock, and heather. You will ascend through rolling hills, cross several streams, and reach Shira Ridge before descending gently to Shira 1 Camp, where you will catch your first glimpse of Kibo Peak.

Spend Today, you will explore the Shira Plateau, one of the highest plateaus on Earth. The trek continues east toward Shira 2 Camp, then diverts to Moir Hut, a less-used site at the base of Lent Hills. This is an excellent acclimatization opportunity, with optional hikes available.

The day begins with a challenging climb up the Barranco Wall, a steep but manageable ascent. After reaching the top, the trail winds through alpine desert terrain before arriving at Karanga Camp, where you will rest before the final push to the summit.

Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
A short but steep trek leads to Barafu Camp, the final base before summit night. You will have an early dinner and rest before beginning the midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak.

- Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
At midnight, you will begin the final ascent to Uhuru Peak (19,341 ft), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, you will descend to Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.

- Distance: 17 km / 10 miles
- Hiking Time: 12-15 hours
The final trek leads down to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates before transferring back to Arusha.
